It has been a while since I sat down to write. Tax season has been very busy. This last week has been touching for me. We had two of our three grandsons here with us all week. I love having them with us. Kyle is ll and Noah is 5. They bring joy to our hearts. They certainly gave Pop Pop a reason to get up and get going this week. There is nothing that Dave would not do for those boys. Kim was in Can Cun and Stephan was handling the house, their dogs and Ben. Ben does not have the enjoyment of year round school as a teenager, but he will get the summer off and Kyle will only have part of it off.
We realized how much Noah has grown up when he decided he was big enough to sleep downstairs with his brother instead of "kicking Grandma out of her bed." Kim and Stephan got them on Friday and the house became instantly quiet.
On to the challenge of the week! Last Sunday we received a call from a member of the Bishopric at our ward. If you are LDS you instinctively know that it ususally means you are going to be asked to speak on Sunday Morning. This was the first time we have talked in Sacrament since joining the Ward last year. As I planned my talk on reading the scriptures, I really had a chance to look back at the last year and see how much our live have changed. I found that in my daily life now the scriptures play a very important part. I turn to them when I am troubled. I wonder now how I made it through Dave's illness without the church, and scriptures and of course our church family, which has become so important to us. This morning as I spoke, I looked at the ward members who have become so important to us. The encouragement we receive from every member is wonderful. The Sisters in Relief Society are a great source of encouragement to me also. I had a wonderful visit this week with our RS President and one of the counselors. I know that they are special, caring people. I envy the fact that they are able to meet with each sister and get to know them. We all find our place in the working of the ward. I have a very special desire and hopefully one day I will be able to fulfill it. Our Bishop is truly a man called by God and gives a sense of calm to us all. I thank God for them all and the blessings they give me in my life.
I am so blessed to have the life that I have now. I love my family and friends so much. This is just my way of saying thank you to all of you who care.
